V has been selected for the highest Postdoctoral contract in the European Union and already has articles of a higher level of international impact than those who evaluate her in her Autonomous Community. But the criteria are “open” to the evaluation of the quality that evaluators do, instead of being done by international objective criteria. Four years later, they keep failing her. They already told her many times about that being the first in denouncing the most compulsive harasser in her knowledge area would come at a high price.
When V defended her doctoral thesis, it was already said in the corridors that she could not stay in that University for being “conflictive”, that is, for not being silent facing everything that was occurring. She went to work to another university, in another Autonomous Community, but what she did not expect was that four years later, a quality agency still failed her for the fourth time in the basic accreditation to opt for a university position in her own Autonomous Community. Not even the very evaluators negate her curriculum and scientific career, but they do fail her accreditation.
In that time, V achieved yet a higher accreditation than the basic one in the national system of university recognition, as well as the accreditation for lecturers in the system of the autonomous community where she moved to, where she also got the recognition of one research section corresponding to six years of scientific production.
This is one more reprisal within the long list of damages that people suffer by the fact of having broken the silence or by supporting the victims that do so. With increasing social support, we will achieve that the victims report without being revictimized and are able to stay in Academia if they so wish.
