A recent article published in DF highlights the growing international emphasis on the value of reliability in intellectual circles, particularly regarding those who have a public image of consistently supporting victims, such as in the MeToo movements. MeToo Universidad only accepts as members those who have always supported all victims and survivors, as well as those who stand by them. Even if someone is already a member, they are excluded from MeToo Universidad if they later attack other victims, those who support them, or if they side with aggressors.
More and more intellectuals, including those perceived as feminists, are being exposed for allegedly perpetrating violence, defending it, supporting aggressors, or looking the other way instead of standing by victims. The scientific evidence is overwhelmingly clear that figures like Foucault and Beauvoir advocated for the decriminalization of pedophilia. Now, similar cases continue to emerge among intellectuals and across political parties, both right-wing and left-wing. These revelations inflict severe damage by fostering distrust among women and the general public toward movements that claim to support victims, particularly in their leadership.
A recent DF article, which has already garnered over 1,000 views worldwide and has been cited by some of the world’s top universities, emphasized the reliability of the first professor in the U.S. who supported a victim. It also highlighted the reliability of that victim, who, decades later, publicly recounts what that professor did. These are the types of individuals who form MeToo Universidad. It is not enough to have been a victim in the past if one later criticizes other victims, supports aggressors, or even attacks those who supported them. Only by maintaining this integrity can the movement retain credibility among the broader public and the most committed feminists—those who have always supported and will always support every victim.
