The auditorium kept and will always keep, as in the best of coffers, the memories and feelings of one of the best events of the MeToo route. We also received again all the support (authorities, faculty, students and PTGAS). We believed that it would never be overcome, and yet, decorating the room with those memories and feelings propelled us into an even deeper transformation, more precious in every sense of the word.

The event had been organized as an event to discuss the past, present and future of the sociology of education among close friends, and about 20 people were expected. It was very surprising that more than 120 came. It was spontaneously transformed into an emotional, profound, beautiful and intelligent homage to Lidia Puigvert.

When Judith Butler met her and published a book with her she said and wrote: “it will change me and my work … you have returned me to my most basic sense of why feminism is urgent, moving and inspiring”. Thanks to Lidia Puigvert’s contributions on dialogic feminism and other women, many doors of freedom were opened to more and more diverse women, who had been excluded not only by mainstream society but also by important feminist leaders.

Lidia was also the student who generated, back in 1995, the first known official report of gender violence in Spanish universities. Being consistent with her feminist values, always supporting the victims despite the cruel and isolating gender violence she suffered, has meant that the people and institutions that supported the harassers have tried, and still try, to make her invisible. In the homage it was clear that they have not succeeded and never will. Her image, without saying a word during the whole event, shone in such a way that it illuminated, bringing out the best in each one of us.

We have as referents Sappho, Scheherezade, Jane Addams, Hedy Lamarr and now we also have Lidia Puigvert.
