The nature and duration of the immunity generated by the SARA-CoV-2 infection is unknown what is a critical determinant of the future impact of the pathogen. The presence or absence of protective immunity due to infection or vaccination is still under research.
There is currently no evidence that people who have recovered from the disease and have antibodies are protected from a second infection.
