T is a student who came from another city to do her master’s degree, which culminated in a Master’s thesis on gender-based violence. As a brilliant student who was really motivated to overcome GBV, she took into account and referenced the main research that was then available on the subject from the research group that had carried it out and had broken the silence on GBV in Spanish universities. At that time, she had no relationship with that research group.
The female president of the tribunal was a professor who not only did not take a stand against GBV at the university, but criticized those who did and the research group that had always stood up for it.
In this defense, T was the one who suffered the consequences, enduring the harsh and unfounded criticism of this female professor of her work, saying that it was a plagiarism of what her group had already done, assuming that she was part of that group, just because she dared to study this topic. When she finished, she went to talk to the student, telling her, at the same time, that the grade had not yet been placed in the academic records and insinuating to her the influence that doing the thesis in that group or with her could have.
